Grade 2 requirements ( 2 years of study) ( Level 2 Achievement Award)

Completion of Schaum B Book

Completion of Theory Book 2

Note Speller Book 2

Memorize at least 3 scales

Memorize at least 3 pieces

Grade 3 requirements ( 4-6 years of study) ( Level 3 Special Musical Achievement Award)

Completion of Schaum C Book

Completion of Thompson Scale Study

Completion of Mathews Book 1

Memorize 5 Scales and Minors

Memorize 3 pieces with movements

Grade 4 requirements (5-7 years of study) ( Level 4 Achievement Award)

Completion of Schaum Book D + Mathews Book 1 + 1/2 of Book 2

Sonatina - all movements

Classical or Baroque piece

Scales - major & minor

Arpeggios

Grade 5 ( 8 + years of study ) ( Scholarship Award)

Sonata

Classical and/or Baroque piece

20th Century piece (Black Composer preferred)

All Scales - major & 2minors (Harmonic + Melodic) and Chords

Ensemble piece

Must sit written Theory & Harmony exam

The completion of grades 3 and up will qualify the student to apply for the teacher training program

Employment after Internship

Students will have an opportunity to apply for employment at our Music Studio. Applications will be reviewed for selection on a regular basis.
